Drama Group’s April presentation is the comedy ‘Quartet’

A story of music and friendship will be brought to the stage in April when The Drama Group presents “Quartet,” a story of four former opera singers who decide they still have what it takes to perform.

The story is set in a retirement home in England where the rumor circling the halls is that the home will soon play host to a star performer. When Jean arrives, old rivalries resurface, secrets are revealed and chaos unfolds.  But, in true theatrical tradition, the show must go on.

“Quartet” is a celebration of the twilight years and the hilarity of growing old in whatever fashion.

The show features actors Ken Hawkley of Homewood and Michael Behrens of Flossmoor. Scenic design is by Russ Hoganson of Homewood and the stage manager is Dayna Sowa of Homewood.

Performances at The Drama Group theater, 330 202nd St. in Chicago Heights, will be 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, April 12 and 13, and 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday, April 18, 19 and 20. Matinee shows at 2 p.m. are on Saturday, April 20, and Sundays, April 14 and 21.

Tickets are $25 for adults, $23 for seniors and members of the military, and $19 for students with ID. Tickets can be purchased through BookTix Ticketing at dg.booktix.com or can be ordered through The Drama Group box office at 708-755-3444.
