Thornton Township Board of Trustees will hold a special meeting at 6 p.m. Monday, March 25, in township hall, 333 E. 162nd St., South Holland. The regular meeting scheduled for Tuesday, March 26, has been canceled.
Flossmoor Community Relations Commission will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, March 25, in village hall, 2800 Flossmoor Road.

Monday, March 25
Spring Break Skates. The H-F Ice Arena will host open skating from 1 to 2:30 p.m. today, tomorrow and Wednesday. Admission is $6. Skate rental is $4. Skate helper rental is $5. Call 708-957-0100 for more information.
Spring blood drive. HOSA-Future Health Professionals student organization is partnering with Versiti Blood Center to host a community blood drive from 2 to 6 p.m. on Monday, March 25, in the atrium of the main campus building at Prairie State College, 202 S. Halsted St., Chicago Heights.
Galloping Ghost Arcade. The H-F Park District will sponsor a teen day trip to the largest video arcade in the country with more than 855 games. Teens will have a whole day to play unlimited games. Transportation and games included in price. Snacks will be available for purchase at the arcade. The trip will leave Irwin Community Center, 18120 Highland Ave. in Homewood at 10:30 a.m. and return at 6 p.m. Fee is $40 for district residents and $50 for non-residents.
Job Fair. The Office of Military Student Affairs at Prairie State College is hosting a job and resource fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the atrium of the main campus building, 202 S. Halsted St., Chicago Heights. Free and open to the public.
Thursday, March 28
Ultimate Frisbee Clinic. The Chicago Union will hold an ultimate frisbee clinic at Lions Park ballfield from 4 to 6 p.m. Participants will learn how to throw (forehands and backhands), catch and work together as a team. For kids ages 8 to 13 of all skill levels. Fee is $30.
HBA Ladies’ Night Out. The Homewood Business Association will host a ladies’ night out during spring break. Shopping, sipping and great deals. Participating businesses include Anjel’s Boutique, Art 4 Soul, Art Corner Frames, Gaia’s Market & Refillery, The Village Door, Jonathan Kane Salon & Spa, La Banque Hotel, Loulou Belle, The Rock Shop, Serendipity Yoga and Wellness, UpsaDaisy, Van Sipma Jewelers and The Villager Gift Shop.
Spring Floral Class. Thornton Distilling, 400 E. Margaret St., will host a floral arrangement class starting at 6:30 p.m.
Friday, March 29
Grandparents’ Day. Homewood Science Center, 18022 Dixie Highway, will host a special event for grandparents and other caregiving adults from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Let’s Go To The Movies. A trip sponsored by the Homewood-Flossmoor Park District from noon to 2 p.m. to the Country Club Hills Cinema for those 55 and up. Includes show ticket and transportation to the theater and back to Irwin Center. All snacks will need to be purchased by participants. Fee is $15 for district residents and $20 for non-residents. Saturday, March 30
Homewood Indoor Farmers Market. The market will be open in the Homewood auditorium, 2010 Chestnut Road, from 8 a.m. to noon. Vendors will be selling things like microgreens, olive oils, pasta sauces, baked goods, chocolates, popcorn and handcrafted items.
STEM Saturday. Homewood Science Center, 18022 Dixie Highway, hosts a weekly science learning session from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Barb and Dan’s Road Ride. Weekly bike ride start at 8 a.m. from GoodSpeed Cycle, 2125 W. 183rd St. in Homewood. There are two groups. One is a no-one-gets-dropped group that follows a 20-mile route. Another group is goes on a longer ride. Helmets required. Lights encouraged. Riders of all experience levels are welcome.
Off-Leash Bike Ride. A nine-mile ride every Saturday starting at 8:30 a.m. at GoodSpeed Cycle, 2125 W. 183rd St. in Homewood. The route includes Butterfield Creek bike path, past Rover’s Run and through Izaak Walton Preserve. No registration. Donuts upon return.
