VIKING GIRLS HEAD TO ELITE 8 — Homewood-Flossmoor High School announced Friday that the girls’ basketball defeated Lincoln Way-East 47-36 Thursday night and now heads to the Elite 8. On Monday the team will play Nazareth Academy at Hinsdale Central at 7 p.m.

“AIN’T MISBEHAVIN’” — The 1930s in Harlem come alive in this swinging revue at the Drama Group studio, 330 202nd St., Chicago Heights, celebrating the world of the Cotton Club and honkytonk dives in classic Fats Waller songs. Shows are at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24; and 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24 and Sunday, Feb. 25. Click here for tickets.

“WINTER BREAK” — The Homewood-Flossmoor High School Theatre Department will stage its winter play, “Winter Break,” at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24. Click here to buy tickets. The play is about a town where winter break has just begun but snow has yet to fall, and 19 teenagers, some who know each other, some who don’t, wrestle with friendships, breakups, loss, graduating, finding their place in the world and accepting change.

JUDICIAL CANDIDATES FORUM — “Beyond the Bench” is an opportunity to meet judicial candidates from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Gloria J. Taylor Banquet Hall, 14821 Broadway Ave. in Harvey. Sponsored by Democratic Women of the Southland Region in partnership with NAACP Far South Suburban Branch.

IMPROV AT IRWIN — South of Chi improv group will present a family-friendly show at 2 p.m. Saturday in Irwin Center, 18120 Highland Ave. in Homewood. The comedians will use suggestions from the audience to come up with skits and play games. There’s also a chance someone in the audience could be selected to join them on stage. COOKIES AND BEER — Girl Scout Cookies and Craft Beer Pairing. Flossmoor Station Restaurant & Brewery will be partnering with Girl Scouts at Western Avenue School to sell cookies for a good cause in a Girl Scout Cookies and Craft Beer Pairing event that will include a sample of four craft beers and eight cookies for $25. “BIG SUIT” at Freedom Hall. “Big Suit” is a tribute to David Byrne and The Talking Heads. A collective of nine musicians drawn to the cerebral adventures, infectious rhythms, and pioneering music known to the world as Talking Heads. Doors open at 7 p.m. Saturday. IPO CONCERT — The Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra will present Sierra, Gershwin & Tchaikovsky Saturday. The concert featuring Sean Chen on piano will begin at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Ozinga Chapel at Trinity Christian College, 6601 W.
