An 18-year-old woman was seriously injured Friday evening, Feb. 16, when she was struck by an SUV in the 18500 block of Kedzie Avenue, according to Homewood police.
Homewood police and fire units responded to a report of a traffic crash shortly before 8 p.m.
On arrival, they learned that a pedestrian had been hit by a northbound vehicle.
The woman was treated at the scene and transported to a local hospital. The driver of the vehicle was not injured, police said.
The circumstances of the crash are under investigation by the Homewood Police Department Criminal Investigations Unit with assistance from the Suburban Major Accident Reconstruction Team (SMART).
