
Peyton Nigro takes the oath of office as a police officer at the Jan. 9 Homewood Board of Trustees meeting. Homewood Police Chief Denise McGrath introduced Nigro to the board, noting that he completed Cook County Sheriff’s Basic Law Enforcement Police Training Academy training and graduated from the academy on Dec. 14, 2023. He then entered the Homewood Police Department Field Training Program. Nigro graduated from Lincoln-Way Central High School in New Lenox in 2018. He attended Concordia University in St. Paul, Minnesota, and St. Xavier University in Chicago. He has a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice.
