COLD — The National Weather Service has issued a wind chill warning until noon today. The low overnight was expected to be -8 and the high will be 2. With winds up to 25 mph, the wind chill could be near -30. Districts 153, 161 and 233 will move to e-learning today and cancel in person classes because of the dangerous temperatures.

FLOSSMOOR TRUSTEES — The board will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16, in village hall, 2800 Flossmoor Road. Find the agenda here. The board will consider a special use for a the development of Flossmoor Veteran’s Memorial at 2525 Flossmoor Road and an amendment to a special use and a plat of consolidation for the property at 19581 Governors Highway, Flossmoor Animal Hospital.

DISTRICT 233 BOARD — Trustees will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16, in the Viking Room, South Building, 999 Kedzie Ave. Find the agenda here. The board will recognize boys track and field Coach Nate Beebe on being named the Illinois Track and Cross Country Coaches Association (ITCCCA) Coach of the Year, and boys track and field Assistant Coach Rob Assise, on being named the ITCCCA Assistant Coach of the Year. 

PARK DISTRICT BOARD — Commissioners will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16, at the Goldberg Administration Building, 3301 Flossmoor Road. Find the agenda here.

HOLIDAY TREE RECYCLING — Trees with decorations removed can be taken to Irons Oaks at the Vollmer Road lot, 2453 Vollmer Road, anytime through Jan. 20. Stack trees neatly with the trunks pointed towards the parking lot. Donated trees will be chipped for use on the trails at Irons Oaks. No yard waste. No trees will be accepted after Jan. 20.
