Four composers selected for Earshot program with Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra

American Composers Orchestra has announced the names of four composers who will participate in its EarShot Readings program in partnership with Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra.

The featured composers and works will be: Sepehr Pirasteh, “Before Dawn;” Daixuan Ai, “Silent Theater;” Osnat Netzer, “Common Ground;” and Chris Neiner “Many Universes.”

Mentor composers will be Jessie Montgomery, an EarShot alumnus, and James Stephenson, with Stilian Kirov, Gibb Music Director of the Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra.

The composers will rehearse, perform and record select upcoming compositions for orchestra.

The four EarShot Readings original scores will be workshopped and performed live at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, at Prairie State College, 202 S. Halsted St., Chicago Heights.

IPO is participating in the program as part of Kirov’s vision to encourage the development of new musical voices.
