Prairie State College art exhibit features 22 works by Illinois artists

The exhibit is in the Christopher Art Gallery on the main PSC campus, 202 South Halsted St. in Chicago Heights. PSC also will host an Artists’ Reception, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 17, that is free and open to the public.

All the artists have created works that convey alternative interpretations of memory. The works are varied in their mood, concept, visual styles and intention.

“This exhibit has work from artists whose varied takes on the idea of memory elicit so many aspects: childhood memories, nostalgia, longing, mystery, and the joy of beauty. Visitors will enjoy the wide range of media, ideas and cultural aspects of memory, that union of head and heart that we all share,” said Gallery Director Beth Shadur.
