Julie McCabe moved to Flossmoor in March with her husband, Marck, and 2 1/2-year-old daughter, Belle, and on Saturday, Dec. 9, she led the singing of Hanukkah blessings and lit the third candle in the community menorah at Flossmoor Park.

“I signed up at my Irish Catholic husband’s urging because it’s just a great thing to do,” she said. “We really like the community so far. We love our neighborhood. We wanted to get involved and this is a great way to get involved.”

She was joined for a photo after the ceremony by Marck and Belle and family members Harry McCabe, Linda Cunningham and Linda and Rich Sieracki.
