ELVES NIGHT OUT — Shop local and have fun. Homewood Business Association members will offer sips, snacks and specials. Participating shops include Anjel’s Boutique, Art 4 Soul, Art Corner Frames, Gaia’s Market & Refillery, Jonathan Kane Salon & Spa, Loulou Belle, Serendipity Shoppe, The Rock Shop, The Village Door, The Villager Gift Shop, UpsaDaisy and Van Sipma’s Jewelers.

HOMEWOOD PLANNING AND ZONING — The commission will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14, in village hall, 2020 Chestnut Road. The agenda will be posted here when it’s available.

COOKIE DECORATING — Flossmoor Station Restaurant & Brewery, 1035 Sterling Ave., Flossmoor, will host a cookie decorating session with Panda Baby Cookies from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

“HARVEY” — The Drama Group will present the comedy “Harvey,” a play about a man and his invisible rabbit. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Dec. 14, 15 and 16, with matinees at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 16, and Sunday, Dec. 17. All tickets are available by going to The Drama Group BookTix website dg.booktix.com, where patrons will be directed to set up an account with “The Drama Group-BookTix Box Office.” Tickets also can be purchased by calling the box office at 708-755-3444. Tickets are $25 for adults, $23 for senior citizens and members of the military, and $19 for students.

MENORAH LIGHTING — Flossmoor will host a menorah lighting ceremony at 5 p.m. in front of Park Place in Flossmoor Park, 2449 Flossmoor Road. The ceremony celebrating Hanukkah will be conducted at 5 p.m. each day through Dec. 14.

HOMEWOOD GIVING TREE — Homewood Public Works Department is partnering with District 153 for the annual Giving Tree initiative, which aims to assist local families in need.

To participate, visit village hall, 2020 Chestnut Road. The tree is inside the west entrance. Pick up an ornament from the Giving Tree to learn the needs and wishes of a child. For those who prefer to make cash donations instead of purchasing gifts, village staff will use contributions to purchase gifts. For more information or to drop off your donations, please contact Lisa Jones at the Public Works Department at 708-206-2906. All items or cash donations are needed prior to Dec. 20.

MEETING CHANGE — The Homewood Board of Trustees regular meeting scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 26, has been rescheduled for Dec. 19 at 7 p.m. in the village hall board room

located at 2020 Chestnut Road, Homewood.
