A resident who reported being shot at early Tuesday was arrested Wednesday, Dec. 13, and charged with allegedly firing shots randomly outside his residents, according to Homewood police.
Emmanuel Simmons, 32, of Homewood was charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm, police said. He was located alone on scene in and allegedly was in possession of a firearm.
Homewood police officers responded to the 18400 block of Kedzie Avenue at about 12:48 a.m. Tuesday after receiving a report of shots fired. Police initially reported locating a person who said several people shot at him as he was leaving his home. He told officers the group got into a vehicle and left the scene, but no descriptions of the assailants or vehicle was provided in the news release Tuesday.
There were no reports of injuries in the incident, but an unoccupied parked vehicle and a garage were damaged by the shots, police said.
