TRASH PICKUP — Homewood Disposal will be closed Thursday, Nov. 23, for Thanksgiving. Monday through Wednesday pickup service will remain on schedule. Thursday pick ups will take place on Friday. Friday pick ups will take place on Saturday.
THORNTON TURKEY TROT — The 55th annual Thanksgiving Day race will start at Sweet Woods Forest Preserve, 183rd Street and Cottage Grove Avenue in Glenwood, on Nov. 23. Registration will begin at 8 a.m. The Kids 1.5 Mile Race will start at 9 a.m. and the 5K race will start at 9:30 a.m.
VILLAGE OFFICES CLOSED— Homewood and Flossmoor offices will be closed Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
HOMEWOOD CHEVY CARES CONTEST OPEN— The Chevrolet of Homewood holiday car giveaway contest is open. To be considered for a free car to be given away on Christmas eve, submit an application here explaining how a car would change the life of the person being nominated. The deadline is Dec. 8.
