GREEN COMMISSION MEETING — The Flossmoor Green Commission will meet at 7 p.m. tonight in the committee room at village hall, 2800 Flossmoor Road. Find the agenda here.

THANKSGIVING STORYTIME — Kids from birth to age 7 will enjoy Thanksgiving stories and songs from 10:30 to 11 a.m. (register here) and from 3:30 to 4 p.m. (register here) at Homewood Public Library, 17917 Dixie Highway.

HOMEWOOD STORIES — Five storytellers will offer first-person true stories at 7:30 p.m. in the FCC Community House at 847 Hutchison Road in Flossmoor. In addition to show curator Karen O’Donnell, tellers will include Betty Milord, Tom Dobrez, Megan Wells and Errol McLendon. Tickets are $15 in advance and can be purchased online. Tickets at the door are $20.

FLOSSMOOR SEEKS CANDLE LIGHTERS — The village of Flossmoor is seeking volunteers to help light the community menorah during Chanukah and the kinara during Kwanzaa. Anyone who is interested in helping should email [email protected].

ORNAMENT TREE — The Village of Homewood is inviting residents to contribute ornaments to the village Christmas tree that will be located in Martin Square. Drop off a family or business decorated ornament at village hall by 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29, so they can be on the tree for Holiday Lights on Dec. 1. Ornaments must be ball shaped, weatherproof, shatterproof and windproof. The tree will remain outside until the end of December. Ornaments will not be returned, so village officials urge participants not to share heirlooms.
