Homewood announces street light contest

The Village of Homewood announced the latest community contest on Monday, Nov. 6 in an effort to engage with Homewood residents and Homewood’s public safety departments. Residents are invited to guess the number of street lights in Homewood for a chance to win a holiday lights mug filled with goodies and an opportunity to ride in Santa’s Sleigh on the back of Wendy the Waste Truck in the Holiday Lights parade.

The street light contest will run until Nov. 30. The first person to correctly guess the number of street lights in Homewood will win. If there is no winner by Nov. 30, the closest guess to the correct winner will win the prizes.

“This contest kicks off our holiday season at the Village of Homewood,” said Communications and Engagement Specialist Antonia Steinmiller. “We wanted to tie in the contest with the Holiday Lights event and what better way than to give the winner a holiday lights mug and a ride in the parade in Santa’s Sleigh!”

The winner will be announced on Nov. 30 and will be invited to pick up their mug of goodies at the Holiday Lights festival on Dec. 1. Up to six people will have the opportunity to ride in Santa’s Sleigh. The ride is being donated by Homewood Disposal.
