Chris Schmitt and Chris Condon represented the Friends of the Flossmoor Public Library organization.
“The Friends of the Library supports Flossmoor Public Library and the entire community,” Nelson said. She listed a number of activities the group engages in, including an ongoing fundraising book sale, providing T-shirts to inspire young readers for the summer reading program, providing treats for the Homewood-Flossmoor Park District’s Halloween Trick or Treat Trail and sponsoring library staff appreciation programs.
She also announced the Harry Potter-themed Witches and Wizards Trivia Night sponsored by the Friends from 6 to 9 p.m. on Oct. 21 at the library, 1000 Sterling Ave. Teams of five can register by contacting library Director Jamie Paiceley at [email protected] or 708-798-3600 ext. 206.
Schmitt noted that the organization has new space in the former Imagination Station room on the south side of library.
“We’ve had lots of favorable comments on our new space,” she said.
