Serendipity Yoga & Wellness owner Liz Smith announced Tuesday, Oct. 3, that she plans to open a pop-up shop in downtown Homewood for the holiday season.
Smith told her colleagues at the Homewood Business Association meeting that she would be opening the Serendipity Shoppe at 2050 Ridge Road, formerly home to BSW, a cosmetics and wellness store. Her lease runs through Jan. 31, 2024.

The shop will sell yoga and wellness-related products that are already for sale in the studio at 18300 Dixie Highway. Smith said the studio setting imposes some limits on retail sales.
“The way the yoga studio works, our doors are locked all the time because nobody can walk in in the middle of yoga,” she said. “So it’s impossible to shop unless you’re taking classes. This (pop-up shop) lets us open up a little bit more to people who need to come in and shop not during class.”
The shop will sell a variety of products that complement yoga and mindfulness, including crystals, items that assist with meditation, essential oils, diffusers and mindfulness aids for kids.
Oracle card readings will be available by appointment.
Smith hopes to open the shop on Friday, Oct. 13, and plans to keep it open through the holiday season. Hours will be 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.
She said the shop will help patrons maintain a healthier lifestyle “and complement what we already have downtown,” she said. “We really have this cool niche of shops that are catering to all of our wellness and our whole needs.”
