Hart softball team region champions

James Hart School’s girls softball team won the regional championship title in the Illinois Elementary School Association on Sept. 12.

The team took the honor by defeating Chicago Heights Middle School. The score was tied in the fifth inning, but the players pulled out a 6-4 win.

That victory gave the team the chance to advance to sectionals.

Hart played hard in the sectional championship against Frankfort’s Hickory Creek Middle School team on Saturday, Sept. 16, but came up short.

Coaching alongside Donohue is teacher Nicole Elget.
