RECEPTION FOR ARTISTS  Prairie State College is hosting a reception from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. today for artists James Bowden, a painter, and sculptors Stephen Lucking and Christopher Newman whose works are on display at the PSC’s Christopher Art Gallery on the PSC campus at 202 S. Halsted St. in Chicago Heights. They each use geometric forms and concepts in their artwork. The exhibition continues through Sept. 27.

Flossmoor Public Library, 1000 Sterling Ave., Flossmoor, in the Helen Wilson Meeting Room.  William Pack goes beyond the myth to bring to life the true story of master magician Harry Houdini. Experience his baffling magic and escapes, hear about his remarkable death and more. Registration is not required.
