Davis, a second-grade teacher at Flossmoor Hills Elementary, was awarded the #AboveAndBeyond recognition for the first quarter. Human resources director Haley Marti presented the award to Davis at the meeting.
“She is a pleasure to work with,” said Marti. “She’ll do anything for her students, their families and her colleagues. She has high expectations, and her students love her.”
Marti went on to explain that Davis was nominated by parents who wanted to recognize her for being a great teacher and helping their children feel welcome in the classroom. Marti read several letters from parents praising Davis for her hard work and dedication.
“Thank you so much, Miss Davis, for all that you do,” said President Carolyn Griggs.
The board voted to approve the 2023-2024 budget discussed at the prior meeting. There were no comments during the public hearing but Associate Superintendent Frances LaBella said she had answered questions from a few community members who contacted her about the budget.
