A driver died Wednesday morning after being involved in a three-vehicle collision at the intersection of 183rd Street and Kedzie Avenue, according to Homewood police.
Police and fire units responded to the scene at about 8:45 a.m.
Officers learned that a grey Ford, a black Volkswagen and an orange Nissan were involved in the crash.
One driver was treated and transported to South Suburban Hospital where she was later pronounced deceased. A second driver and passenger were treated and transported to the hospital for minor injuries. The third driver was not injured and taken into custody pending the investigation.
The circumstances of the crash are under investigation by the Homewood Police Department Criminal Investigations Unit with assistance from the Suburban Major Accident Reconstruction Team (SMART).
