Homewood police officers responded to the 1400 block of Linden Road at 4:17 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 31, to investigate a report of multiple shots fired.
Officers checked the surrounding area and did not locate an immediate threat nor the source of the incident, according to police.
Shortly after 9 a.m. officers returned to the area and found two spent shell casings in the roadway. The casings are suspected to be related to the earlier report of shots fired, police said.
