HOMEWOOD LIBRARY CARPET PROJECT This week the carpet project got fully under way. Book shelves now fill the first floor area in front of the circulation desk and library services and access are limited. To see the latest on what’s available and what’s limited, visit the project webpage.

LAST CALL FOR FALL FEST VENDORS — The deadline is tomorrow to register with the village of Homewood as a vendor at Fall Fest on Sept. 23. Register to participate.

MAKE CHILI, WIN MONEY — The top prize in Homewood’s annual Chili Cook-Off at Fall Fest on Sept. 23 is $100, and there will be cash awards for second and third place and for the People’s Choice winner and Best Decorations. Register to compete.

METRA BOOZE MORATORIUM— The Chicago Jazz Festival begins today and runs through Sunday, Sept. 3. Metra will bar alcohol on trains Thursday and Friday after 7 p.m. and all day Saturday and Sunday.
