Homewood sandwich shop robbed

Homewood police are investigating an armed robbery Monday morning, Aug. 28, at Subway sandwich shop, 18350 Governors Highway.

Police said that officers responded to the shop shortly after 10 a.m. after receiving a report of an armed robbery.

“Officers learned that an unknown masked offender entered the location, displayed a handgun and demanded money from the register,” said Police Chief Denise McGrath. 

The robber obtained an unknown amount of money and fled the area in an unknown vehicle, she said. 

No one was injured during the incident.
