LAST POOL WEEKEND — Lions Club Pool will be open Saturday and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. Capacity will be limited based on lifeguard availability.

SSHS FUNDRAISER/PET ADOPTION EVENT — South Suburban Humane Society will hold a fundraiser and adoption event from 5 to 9 p.m. today at Bottoms Up Bar & Grill, 1696 Thornton-Lansing Road in Lansing. There will be pets to adopt, free food, live music, raffles and merchandise. Tickets are $10 in advance, $20 at the door. Email [email protected] to purchase tickets in advance.
ROLLER DERBY TONIGHT — North Side will meet South Side in a roller derby bout at 8 p.m. tonight in the Homewood Auditorium, 2010 Chestnut Road. Doors open at 7:15 p.m.  General tickets $15; trackside tickets $20. Accessible seating available at no extra charge.

TAX ASSESSMENT WORKSHOP — Homewood residents are invited to attend a tax assessment workshop from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. today at village hall, 2020 Chestnut Road. The workshop will take place in the board room. Assessors from Thornton Township and Rich Township will be presenting and answering questions for residents learn about the tax appeal process. Also, joining the presentation will be the Cook County’s Assessor’s Office.

DOCUMENT SHREDDING/IDENTITY THEFT PREVENTION — Congresswoman Kelly will hold a privacy fair in Matteson from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at Victory Apostolic Church, 20801 Matteson Ave. in Matteson. This event will provide attendees with drive-through onsite document shredding and identity theft prevention literature. The limit for shredding is three bags or boxes per vehicle. Attendees are strongly encouraged to pre-register.
