HOMEWOOD BOARD OF TRUSTEES — The board will meet tonight at 7 p.m. in village hall, 2020 Chestnut Road. Find the agenda here. Attend virtually here. Use ID 980 4907 6232 and passcode 830183. On the agenda: The board will consider a budget amendment to allocate American Rescue Plan Act funds to add 10 speakers and a new antenna to the downtown speaker system; another budget amendment to spend ARPA money to the landscaping/curb project on the Harwood Avenue parking lot; authorizing the replacement of yield signs on Birch Road at Gottschalk Avenue with stop signs; and approving a mutual reporting agreement with Homewood School District 153. 

CROSSING GUARDS WANTED — The Homewood Police Department is taking applications for both crossing guards. Full-time crossing guards work five days a week at an assigned location for school crossings in the morning and afternoon hours. Part-Time crossing guards are placed on a call-out list to fill daily vacancies as needed. Applications are available here.

FALL REGISTRATION OPEN AT PSC — Registration is open for the fall 2023 semester at Prairie State College in Chicago Heights with various options, including in-person, online and hybrid classes, with flexible scheduling options and start dates throughout the semester.
