The third Porch Fest would have featured seven performances at four homes on Saturday afternoon, Aug. 5, but the weather got in the way.
The morning started out drippy, with intermittent light showers, but by late morning, steadier rain had set in and settled down to make a day of it. Organizer Annie Lawrence posted an announcement on Facebook canceling the event shortly before noon.
“Unfortunately, the weather is not cooperating with us today,” she said. “For the safety of the musicians and their instruments we are canceling today’s festival.”
She suggested anyone looking for live music might consider heading to a local venue, and she promised to bring the event back next year.
