CHAMBER NIGHT — Downtown Flossmoor will be filled with music from 5 to 7:30 p.m. when members of the Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra and the Bel Canto Community Choir perform in front of the Flossmoor Public Library, 1000 Sterling Ave.

COMMENT ON METRA FARES — Metra has scheduled an informational session from 3 to 7 p.m.  Wednesday, July 19, at Millennium Station to solicit feedback about proposed changes to its fare structure for 2024. The commuter rail service plans to reduce the number of fare zones to four from 10 and change some of the fare options available.

PADRES SIGN H-F STAR — The San Diego Union-Tribune reports that the San Diego Padres have signed Homewood-Flossmoor High School star ballplayer Dillon Head with a $2.8 million bonus. The Padres drafted Head a week ago in the 25th pick of the first round.

LIBRARY BOARD — Homewood Public Library Board of Trustees will meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 19, at the library, 17917 Dixie Highway. Find the agenda here.
