AIR QUALITY ALERT — The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency issued an air quality alert through Wednesday for fine particulate matter because of smoke from wildfires in Canada that is moving into the region. Active children and adults especially people with pulmonary or respiratory disease such as asthma should avoid long or intense outdoor activity. Everyone else should reduce outdoor activity.

FLOSSMOOR SCULPTURE TOUR — The Flossmoor Public Art Commission will offer a pop-up sculpture tour starting today at 6 p.m. Meet in the traffic island on Sterling Avenue downtown. The tour will include the newest piece in the collection, “Sans Titre Ref 366,” by sculptor Nicolas Dubreuille.

FEMALE SPIES OF WWII — Kit Sergeant, author of “The Spark of Resistance,” will give a multi-media presentation on the incredible lives and work of women spies in World War II describing how Britain used women to infiltrate occupied France. The program is at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 28, at the Homewood Public Library.

NAME YOUR PRICE — From 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 28, come and take a look at all that  the former Homewood Walmart at 175th and Halsted Street has to offer. It’s the public’s chance to see what’s available, from bakery equipment and shelving to freezers and cardboard balers.
