AIR QUALITY ALERT AGAIN — The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency has issued an air pollution action alert for today for Homewood and Flossmoor. The alert will be in effect through tonight. People who are sensitive to elevated ozone levels should consider limiting time spent outdoors.

COMMISSIONER SEEKS BIRTH STORIES — Cook County Commissioner Donna Miller is urging women of color to share their birth stories as part of her effort highlight the issues around maternal morbidity and mortality rates. She is inviting women to testify at the county’s Health & Hospitals Committee hearing at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 27. “The hearing will provide an opportunity to bring together key maternal health stakeholders and … the BIPOC mothers of #CookCounty, in order to fully understand the factors leading to high maternal morbidity and mortality rates and answer questions related to maternal health overall in Cook County,” Miller said in a Facebook post.
