AIR QUALITY ALERT — The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency has issued an air pollution action alert for today for the greater Chicago Metropolitan Area, including Homewood and Flossmoor. The alert will be in effect through tonight. People who are sensitive to elevated ozone levels should consider limiting time spent outdoors.

JACKSON STATION IMPACTED — Taking the train to the Loop? Be aware that 2 of the three Metra Electric access points to the Jackson/Van Buren Street Station are now closed until after the NASCAR event July 1 and 2. The path between Jackson Street and the platforms and the path through the “Paris Metro” entrance at Van Buren on the east side of Michigan Avenue are closed. The access points at Van Buren on the west side of Michigan Avenue will remain open and Metra Electric service will not be impacted.
