JUNETEENTH FESTIVAL — Billed as the largest Juneteenth celebration in the South Suburbs, the HF Juneteenth Festival will take place from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, June 17, in the South Building parking lot at Homewood-Flossmoor High School, 999 Kedzie Ave. Twenty-one food vendors and 149 tent vendors are expected to be in attendance. Vendors will showcase an array of retailers, nonprofits, artists and several others. JUNETEENTH SCHOOL SUPPLY DRIVE — You Matter 2 will be collecting donations of backpacks, notebooks, folders, pencils, pens, crayons, markers and glue at the Juneteenth Festival gate on Saturday, June 17. The organization’s Back to School Bash is set for Saturday, Aug. 5.
JUNETEENTH PARADE — On Monday, June 19, the Juneteenth Parade will step off at 9 a.m. at Western Avenue Elementary School, 940 Western Ave., and end at Parker Junior High School, 2810 School St.
