Wright previously served as the village’s program and events coordinator.

She will be responsible for coordinating village and district sponsored events, provide event related communication support and provide connection opportunities for residents and parents with both the village and the district.

Prior to her municipal work, Wright served Homewood School District 153 for three years and District 161 for six years as a special education instructional assistant.

“Stephanie Wright is a human lightning bolt; she works tirelessly on behalf of our residents,” said Assistant Village Manager Jonathan Bogue. “We can think of no one who is better suited, loves her community more, for this unique partnership with School District 161.”

As events coordinator, Wright has managed events for the past two years, including Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service, Flossmoor Fest and all holiday events. She has served as the staff liaison for various commissions, including the Community Relations Commission, Green Commission and the Public Art Commission.

Wright said she believes that the village shines its brightest when residents and visitors gather together over a shared task. Volunteerism has always been important to her, both professionally and personally.

Even before assuming this new role, she worked closely with the schools to engage students in volunteer opportunities and programs.

“I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve my community further in this role,” Wright said. “I look forward to working with the entire team of talented and dedicated staff, students and families within School District 161.”

“We truly value our collaborative relationship with the Village of Flossmoor and the hiring of a shared community engagement manager is another positive step for us,” District 161 Superintendent Dana Smith said. “We are excited for Mrs. Wright to get started and are looking forward to the value that she will add to our School District and Community.”

Wright and her husband, Ryan Wright, have two sons, Griffin and Alex Wright. The family has lived in Flossmoor for the past 19 years.
