Public Works Director John Schaefer touched on why the open house event is important for the community of Homewood.

“I think it’s a great way for the people to see where their tax dollars are going towards in public works,” said Schaefer.  “On top of that It’s a nice way to get children involved to come out and have a good time with all the different activities.”

Parent Katrina Mancel sees the open house as the perfect opportunity for her son, Jaden Mancel to have some fun.

“My son loves cars and trucks so him getting to hop on the different rides they use here makes me happy,” said Mancel. “They do a really great job here at interacting with the children so it’s an easygoing and good experience.”

With beautiful skies and pleasant weather, the open house was an enjoyable time for everyone involved.
