IPO four-concert summer series opens June 14

The Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra opens its IPO Summer series at Olympia Fields Country Club on June 14.

The program includes four concerts:

  • June 14 – “Four: Strings, People and Countries” featuring an IPO string quartet with violinists Linda Veleckis and Kamen Vetchev; Matthew Barwegen on viola and Lisa Bressler on cello.
  • June 28 – “Fire & Water” featuring and IPO brass ensemble with R. Matthew Lee and Greg Fudala on trumpet; Brian Goodwin, horn; Tom Stark, trombone; Sean Whitake, tuba; and Simon Gomez Gallego on timpani/percussion.
  • July 12 – “Winds & Keys” featuring an IPO quartet with Cynthia Fudala on flute; Naomi Bensdorf Frisch on oboe; Claire Werling on clarinet; Matthew Hogan, bassoon and Marilyn Burgeois on piano.
  • July 26 – “Jazz @ OFCC” with the Shout Section Big Band and vocalist Tatum Langley.

Tickets are $39 per concert, or $105 for three concerts or $140 for four concerts. Concert goers can select from a 6:15 p.m. or a 7:45 p.m. concert. For ticket information, visit IPOmusic.com or call 708-481-7774.
