HBA SILENT AUCTION OPEN – A silent auction is open for this year’s art fundraising project sponsored by Homewood Business Association. Local businesses purchased and decorated 30 planters. Proceeds from the auction will benefit local social service agency Open Access. The planters will be on display in the windows of the Homewood Science Center annex at 2018 Ridge Road for the next few weeks and then will be on display at the Artisan Street Fair June 2 and 3. The auction ends at 3 p.m. June 3.

GET A TASTE OF TENNIS – The United States Tennis Association will be holding free introductions to the sport at the Flossmoor Park courts, 2449 Flossmoor Road, on Saturday, with a session for youth and juniors from 9 to 10:30 a.m., one for veterans with service-related disabilities from 10:30 a.m. to noon, and one open session from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Racquets will be provided for anyone who doesn’t have one. SUMMER WINE TASTING – Cork Gaming & Wine Bar at 19870 Kedzie Ave. will hold a wine tasting event starting at 2 p.m. Saturday.
