Two Flossmoor road projects set for summer work

Two summer road projects in Flossmoor were announced by the Cook County Department of Transportation and Highways.

Crews will be working on Flossmoor Road from Ridgeland Avenue to Kedzie Avenue doing pavement patching, asphalt resurfacing, ADA ramp construction, culvert repairs, drainage adjustment, detector loops replacement, and new pavement markings. Drivers are reminded that there will be times when traffic will be reduced to one lane.

The second project intersecting Flossmoor will be work on Vollmer Road from Western Avenue to Dixie Highway in Chicago Heights. The work includes pavement patching, asphalt resurfacing, ADA ramp construction, culvert repairs, drainage adjustment, detector loops replacement, and new pavement markings. Drivers are reminded that there will be times when traffic will be reduced to one lane.

“We understand how vital construction project information is for our residents and are offering this easy-to-use platform to ensure they are able to access the information quickly,” said Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle. “We want residents to know where and when potential slowdowns might be encountered so they are able to travel safely and efficiently throughout the County.”
