4.21.23 | What You Need to Know This Weekend

BATTER UP FOR OPENING DAY PARADES – Saturday is opening day for baseball and softball leagues in Homewood and Flossmoor. 

Cheer for players in the Flossmoor Baseball & Softball Opening Day Parade, stepping off from Parker Junior High at 9:30 a.m., and traveling up Flossmoor Road to Brassie Avenue, then ending at Bronco Field for Opening Day Ceremonies. 

Root for players walking in the Homewood Baseball & Softball Opening Day Parade, which starts out from the Irwin Center at 11 a.m. and takes a route down Ridge Road to the Izaak Walton Fields. 

FREE OAK TREE SAPLINGS AT HSC – For Earth Day, Homewood Science Center welcomes special presenters from Nordson Green Earth Foundation. They will be giving away oak tree saplings on a first-come, first-served basis, along with with care instructions. Supplies are limited. Visit from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
