One person died in a three-vehicle crash in the 17800 block of Halsted Street just before noon Tuesday, according to Homewood police.
The crash occurred at 11:52 a.m. and involved a semi-truck, a Chevy sedan and a Ford SUV.
The driver of the SUV was dead when officers arrived, police said. The driver of the sedan was transported to an area hospital for treatment. The driver of the semi was not injured.
The identities of the drivers were withheld pending notification of family.
The Homewood Criminal Investigations Unit and the Suburban Major Accident Reconstruction Team (SMART) are investigating the crash. Police ask anyone who may have witnessed the crash to call 708-206-3420.
