In January, Specialty Physicians of Illinois, LLC (SPI) opened its newest location in Olympia Fields. The clinic, at 3700 W. 203rd Street, joins several others in the South Suburbs in providing same day walk-in services for the community.

Specialty Physicians of Illinois, LLC provides convenient, specialized care for entire families through a group of well trained and experience physicians and surgeons. According to its website, the doctors’ group specialties include cardiology, dermatology, diabetes services, gynecology and more.

Among their network of clinics, SPI offers a wide range of services including general, insurance, sports, school, and employment physicals; X-rays; lab services; EKGs; flu and pneumonia immunizations; drug and alcohol screens; worker’s compensation injury treatment; Department of Transportation drug screens; wound care; STI evaluations and testing; hepatitis C testing; and fracture and sprain treatment.

Dr. Sheree S. Boyd serves as the director of operations for SPI. She estimates close to 980 patients have visited the new location since its opening. She emphasized the convenience of same day service that can be utilized at a patient’s convenience.

“We have open access, so appointments aren’t needed,” Boyd said.

SPI is part of the network of Franciscan Alliance, Inc., also known as Franciscan Health, a network of hospitals serving Indiana and Illinois. Raymond Grady currently serves as president and chief executive officer of Franciscan Alliance’s South Suburban Chicago Division.

In November 2022, Grady spoke about Franciscan Alliance during a blessing and dedication ceremony of one of SPI’s clinics in Chicago Heights.

“Franciscan Alliance has provided services to this community for more than 100 years and has demonstrated our fidelity to this community by adapting to the latest advances in healthcare,“ Grady said.

The values of Franciscan are:

  • Respect for life: The gift of life is so valued that each person is cared for with such joy, respect, dignity, fairness and compassion that he or she is consciously aware of being loved.
  • Fidelity to our mission: Loyalty to and pride in the health care facility are exemplified by members of the health care family through their joy and respect in empathetically ministering to patients, visitors and co-workers.
  • Compassionate concern: In openness and concern for the welfare of the patients, especially the aged, the poor and the disabled, the staff works with select associations and organizations to provide a continuum of care commensurate with the individual’s needs.
  • Joyful service: The witness of Franciscan presence throughout the institution encompasses, but is not limited to, joyful availability, compassionate, respectful care and dynamic stewardship in the service of the church.
  • Christian stewardship: Christian stewardship is evidenced by just and fair allocation of human, spiritual, physical and financial resources in a manner respectful of the individual, responsive to the needs of society, and consistent with church teachings.

In addition to the care received at the clinic, patients are referred to resources within SPI’s network if needed.

“When they leave our establishment, they’ll know they’ve been treated by some of the best in our area,” Boyd said.

Other locations of SPI include Chicago Heights, Homewood, Matteson and Tinley Park.
