The Homewood-Flossmoor Education Organization has endorsed four candidates for positions on the District 233 school board in the April 4 election.
The teachers union, representing about 220 teachers and instructional assistants at Homewood-Flossmoor High School, has selected newcomer Christopher Riedel and incumbents Pam Jackson, Gerald Pauling and Nathan Legardy to support for reelection for the four open positions. Each would serve a four-year term.
HFEO announced its support after a teachers committee reviewed candidate responses to an HFEO questionnaire. Dana Noble, president of HFEO said responses were assessed in three areas: record, eligibility and promise.
“The committee makes a decision based on those three things to decide who would best support the interests of teachers and students in our district,” Noble said.
HFEO will be sending a mailer to District 233 voters on behalf of the candidates, and doing some social media announcements and local advertising.
