THEFT PREVENTION – After a recent increase in certain stolen vehicles, Homewood Police Department has partnered with Kia and Hyundai corporations to help combat motor vehicle theft.

HPD is now offering free steering wheel locks to village residents who own a Hyundai vehicle from model years 2011 to 2021. Locks for Kia vehicles in those model years will also be available soon.

To qualify, residents must show a state ID card, proof of vehicle registration within Homewood village limits, and a steel key ignition.

Steering wheel locks can be picked up 24/7 at Homewood Police Department, located at 17950 Dixie Highway.
