One pet cat died but no one else was hurt in a fire Friday morning that destroyed a mobile home in Eli’s Trailer Park, 861 Ridge Road in Homewood.
The Homewood Fire Department received the call at 7:33 a.m., according to Deputy Chief Steve DeJong.
He said the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
The fire was extinguished in about 15 minutes. In addition to Homewood firefighters, crews from Hazel Crest, Glenwood, Thornton, Flossmoor, Country Club Hills and Markham responded to the scene. The last crew left the scene about 9 a.m.
