European Wax Center opens in Homewood

The European Wax Center celebrated its grand opening at 17729 S. Halsted St., Homewood, on Monday, Feb. 13, with a ribbon cutting and tour of the new facility.

Mayor Rich Hofeld joined community members and staff at the franchise’s launch.

“We’re happy to have another business join our community,” Hofeld said. “The services they provide for area residents are inviting with a beautiful insight into the community.”

The franchise is one of more than 850 waxing salons spread across the country. The Homewood store’s hours in are: Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The European Wax Center offers waxing services and product lines for clients that include Brazilian waxing; brow, body and facial waxing; brow tinting and men’s services.

In addition to those services, specific skin care products targeting the face, body, and brows for hair regrowth, cleansing, nourishing skin, products eliminating bumps, etc., are available for clients.

District Manager Ally Szakacs said the salon’s philosophy of eyebrow waxing is set as the “sole priority,” Szakacs added, “Waxing and threading can be a back burner business for some; all of our thoughts, time, and efforts are dedicated into our waxing done correctly and perfectly.”

Latoya Cosey, European Wax Center’s manager, said all estheticians/cosmetologists are required to pass board certifications in Illinois.

“We currently have five licensed estheticians working within our branch, with plenty of education and experience in providing to customers.”
