Prairie State College invites the public to a free jazz concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, as part of the 34th Annual Jazz Festival. The performance will be in the Barnes & Noble College Auditorium in the PSC Conference Center, 202 S. Halsted St., Chicago Heights.
The concert will feature Derek Gardner on trumpet; Darius Hampton on saxophone; Valerie Nicholson on piano; Junius Paul on bass; and Earnie Adams on drums.
The festival focuses on local high school and middle school performers who will come to PSC Feb. 15, 16 and 17 to perform for musicians who offer feedback to them. This year, students from Homewood-Flossmoor High School will be part of the musicians’ clinic.
