Homewood hires Tyler Hall as assistant village manager

The village of Homewood has hired Tyler Hall as assistant village manager. 

“I was attracted to the Assistant Village Manager position for the opportunity to serve Homewood’s diverse community, work alongside experienced Village leaders, and collaborate with community partners and residents,” Hall said.  

Hall will assist with managing the day-to-day operations of the Village that includes oversight of department operations, labor union agreements and negotiations, financial forecasting and budgeting, research and analysis, grant research and management, and coordination of a wide variety of special projects.

Hall began his employment at the village of Homewood on Jan. 9. Hall, a native of Evanston, comes to Homewood from the village of Arlington Heights as a management analyst and brings additional municipal experience from the city of Highland Park.

While at Highland Park,  Hall served on the city’s labor management teams for police officer and police sergeant unions, oversaw the waste hauling franchise agreements, managed various community engagement programs and led the police department to their fifth national accreditation award. 

Hall has a Master of Public Administration degree from Northern Illinois University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Wittenburg University. Hall coaches men’s lacrosse at Elmhurst University in his spare time. 

“I wholeheartedly believe that Tyler is going to be a critical and complementary part of our municipal team,” Village Manager Napoleon Haney said. “He has a great background and bright future.” 

Haney introduced Hall at the Jan. 10 Board of Trustees meeting. Hall will take his oath of office at the Jan. 24 meeting at 7 p.m.
