CAREFUL WITH YOUR CANS – Remember residential garbage pickup is delayed one day this week. 

NO QUESTIONS FOOD PANTRY – If your supplies are depleted right now, visit the food pantry at Calvary Assembly Church, 274 W. Glengate Ave., in Chicago Heights, opening at 11 a.m. There are no ID checks, and you’re welcome to pick up for yourself, or a friend or neighbor in need. 

SECOND DAY OF KWANZAA – Join Flossmoor community members for a lighting of the kinara in honor of the second night of Kwanzaa at 5 p.m. in Flossmoor Park. The kinara features seven candles, representing the Seven Principles of Kwanzaa, with one lit each day of the holiday. The nightly lighting ceremony continues to Jan. 1.
