South Suburban College (SSC) is hosting a virtual open house on Zoom for the Work Equity Initiative (WEI) sponsored programs at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 14. The open house will allow the public to gain more information on the WEI-sponsored programs, including community health worker, barbering, basic nursing assistant, solar photovoltaic, forklift operator, patient care technician and pharmacy technician.
The WEI project is designed to create, support and expand short-term workforce training opportunities in high-need areas. The WEI grant provides wrap-around services, including comprehensive financial assistance and academic support to participating students within various program areas providing stackable credentials.
