Homewood police officers responded at 3:39 p.m. to Walmart at 17550 S. Halsted St. after receiving a report of a disturbance. 

Village officials posted a message on Facebook to counter social media rumors that there was a shooting. No shots were fired.

Police continue to investigate the incident.
