Homewood mayor urges support for District 153 referendum

Outstanding schools, a winning park district, a great library and a well-run, welcoming village make the Homewood community the jewel of the South Suburbs. All are operating in a responsible manner, keeping in mind costs and the services they provide.

The Homewood School District has made a decision to seek a referendum which will provide funds for long-needed building improvements and to fund and enhance school programs. These decisions are not made lightly. I know that board members agonize over them, do their homework and review all options. All revenue and expenses are reviewed, alternatives . . .
