The lavish sunsets, the beautiful greenery and nature alive in the environment will be well represented in the 2023 calendar presented by the Izaak Walton Nature Preserve.
The top photos for each month, as well as the front and back covers have been selected.

- August: “Goodmorning from God” by Kristi Yapp
- September: “Cat” by Laura Barnoski
- October: “Fungi Funhouse” by Tina Ray
- November: “November Sundown” by Suzanne Mitchell
- December: “Frosty Bridge” by Todd Wittenberg
The front cover, “Maximilian Sunflower,” is by Steven Mathews and the back cover, “Golden Rays,” is by Topher Campbell.
A panel of five professional photographers from across Illinois were the outstanding judges who sifted through 190 photos to select their favorites. Then Izaak Walton’s Facebook page gave supporters a chance to “like” their favorites, which helped break any ties in judging.
